Each JFSC Home Support team member, plays an integral role in supporting our community clients by providing home support services on a regular basis allowing our clients to age in place. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Complete assigned duties within client homes and provide services as directed in a service plan, which may include, but are not limited to personal care, medication assist, meal preparation, light housekeeping, etc.
Understand the importance of preventing cross-contamination when completing tasks
Ability to multitask and work within time restraints without compromising on quality
Create positive and collaborate working relationships with clients, families, and other team members
Attend all required staff and training meetings to enhance current skill levels ultimately improving the quality of service provided
Maintain confidentiality and provide service to our clients with dignity, compassion, and respect
Create awareness regarding client's rights and responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS
Health Care Aide/Support Worker Certification a must. We fully train all staff to meet our standards.
Previous experience is an asset
Effective verbal and written English communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a member of a team
Experience working with Seniors or Vulnerable adults is considered an asset
Must possess a reliable cell phone with data plan
Must be able to legally work in Canada
Required to successfully complete a Criminal Background check, including vulnerable population check
Must possess a valid driver's license, satisfactory driver's abstract and access to reliable transportation
Outstanding customer service skills
WHMIS training is an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPECTATIONS
Required travel to client homes across the City of Calgary
Interaction with male and female clients of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds
Crouching, kneeling, stooping/bending, pushing/pulling for extended periods of time
Walking, standing and climbing stairs frequently
