Exciting opportunity to work up to Full Scope of Practice on a 39 bed Acute Medical Inpatient Unit consisting of a unique blend of Internal Medicine Teaching and Oncology patients. You will help to advance the unit\'s values of: Collaborative practice, Full scope of practice, Patient and family centered care and evidence based practice. While working in a dynamic team environment that supports learning. The Nursing Attendant provides patient care services as an unregulated worker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position is responsible for performing tasks related to activities of daily living and other specific procedures on the nursing unit. Heavy lifting, as well as repetitive movements are necessary during the course of performing duties on this unit. You will have the unique opportunity to work in a collaborative care service delivery model (CoAct). Collaborative practice is defined as care providers working together to contribute their knowledge, skills and abilities to patient care in a process of continuous communication and shared decision-making among patients/families and all of the care providers who are involved in a patient\'s care to achieve outcomes that could not have been achieved by health care providers working either alone or in parallel. As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
