Your Opportunity:This opportunity allows you to become 1 of 10 new 0.8 FTE Regularized Relief Health Care Aides in Mackenzie Place (Float Team). Reporting to the Relief Team Manager, you will be scheduled to work shifts in both Designated Supportive Living (DSL4) units and the Enhanced Care Unit (ECU). The DSL4 units provide clients with a home where they can enjoy privacy and independence with the comfort of knowing their health and personal care supports are on-site when needed. The ECU is a dynamic environment that is designed to meet the needs of individuals who present with a combination of dementia syndrome and complex behavioral issues. The Health Care Aide participates as an unregulated worker in the delivery of quality client care by performing services necessary for the physical/emotional well-being and comfort of the client under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). You must be available on days, evenings, weekends, and stats. Duties include assisting clients with activities of daily living, personal care, lifting and transferring, and assisting with health care tasks/procedures as necessary. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description:As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
