The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys teaching, coaching, and mentoring others. You will use your clinical expertise to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed as
Healthcare Assistants (HCAs)
--a critical and growing role in British Columbia's healthcare system.
This is a 30?hour per week teaching position that blends classroom theory, lab instruction, and supervision of students during clinical placements in the Kelowna area.

Key Responsibilities
Teach approximately
30 hours per week
in the Healthcare Assistant (HCA) program, integrating both theory and hands-on skills.
Deliver lessons using established curriculum and detailed lesson plans, in collaboration with the
Program Coordinator
.
Support student learning by explaining HCA concepts, provid feedback, and offer guidance to help students succeed
Supervise students during
clinical placements
at local care sites in the Kelowna area.
Communicate regularly with
placement supervisors and mentors
to monitor student performance and address any concerns.
Participate in
team meetings
and contribute to ongoing program quality and improvement.
Required Qualifications
These requirements are set by the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry (BCCACHWR) and are not flexible:
Current unrestricted full registration as an LPN, RN, or RPN with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Minimum of 2 years of full-time Canadian nursing experience (at least 2800 hours), with strong knowledge of Canadian healthcare and a genuine passion for working with older adults and in community care settings.
Proven ability to teach adult learners (Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent experience is an asset).
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
3+ years of Canadian nursing experience.
Familiarity with healthcare aide provincial curriculum and standards.
Strong organizational, leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
Compensation
