Health and Wellness Director (Activities)
The
Health and Wellness Director
provides a comprehensive activity program for the benefit of each resident on a continuing basis. In this role you will be required to plan, direct, and coordinate the necessary activities for the activation Health & Wellness program within the residence.
Responsibilities
Oversee the health and wellness programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Manage and supervise staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Conduct assessments and develop individualized wellness plans for residents.
Maintain accurate records and manage budgets related to wellness initiatives.
Ensure effective communication with residents and families regarding health services.
Provide training and support to staff on health and wellness best practices.
Promote a culture of safety and well-being within the facility.
Requirements
Diploma in recreation/leisure studies.
Course(s) in Gerontology and Activities/Recreation are desirable.
Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Must have experience working in a retirement residence with both Independent and Assisted Living/Memory Care residents
Knowledge of program development is an asset.
Must be a Recreational Therapist
License/Certification:
First Aid Certification (preferred)
Class 4 Driver's License an asset
