JOB DESCRIPTION Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston. Reporting to the Health, Safety and Environment Manager, the Safety Supervisor will ensure compliance with applicable legislation, company standards, and continuous improvement with a focus on Safety. Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Engineering, Business Degree, Technical Designation, or equivalent experience in Health & Safety.
  • Experience in Training and Project Management.
  • Health and Safety background with experience conducting Root Cause Incident Investigations, Hazard Assessments, developing JSA\xe2\x80\x99s, SOP\xe2\x80\x99s and Safety Training Programs would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge with Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry and Lockout Tagout programs would be considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage team members and other stakeholders.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft products as well as online SDS management systems and incident reporting and tracking systems.
  • Be willing to work towards completion of a certificate program in Occupational Health and Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
  • As required, lead and/or assist with the completion of workplace incident investigations and determination of root cause.
  • Facilitate task-based risk assessments and assist with monitoring compliance.
  • Follow up and ensure actions plans related to workplace incidents are assigned and completed.
  • Be the point of contact for provincial Occupational Health Safety and / or third part auditors.
  • Develop, coordinate and manage the project charters for various safety projects.
  • Prioritize the various safety and training projects.
  • Facilitate the training associated with new safety procedures and programs.
  • Be responsible for the proper safety and training documentation.
  • Deliver progress reports and presentations on the various safety projects and training initiatives under way.
  • Work as a resource for the site Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
  • Provide leadership to the site Medical First Responder Unit and Fire Brigade.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $53,000.00-$63,000.00 per year Flexible Language Requirement:
