Are you a dedicated Health & Safety professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and growing organization? Our client, a leader in the greenhouse and horticulture sector, is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join their team and drive a culture of safety excellence across their operations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, programs, and procedures in compliance with WorkSafeBC and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure safe work practices, particularly around electrical systems and equipment.
• Provide training and coaching to staff on safe operating procedures, emergency preparedness, and hazard awareness.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with leadership and operations teams to integrate safety into daily business practices.
• Maintain documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping related to compliance and safety initiatives.

Requirements:
Qualifications:

• Occupational Health & Safety diploma, certificate, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within agriculture, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and practices, with proven experience working around electrical systems, equipment, or facilities.
• Familiarity with WorkSafeBC regulations and occupational safety best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to engage and influence employees at all levels to build a proactive safety culture.
