This position also plays a critical role in the protection of the environment. This position works collaboratively to support the Business and Plant Departments objectives in achieving Environmental compliance and Health and Safety Excellence. This role has a special focus in its corporate interaction and support, as, this position supports the development of a proactive focus on environmental and industrial risk activities in an effort to support the Canadian EHS team in eliminating incidents and risk. This role also oversees the development and implementation of the Metro Vancouver Projects Health and Safety program, training program, emergency response, and in other EHS related programs, policies and procedures. The incumbent is required to perform Safety and Security Sensitive duties and responsibilities. This position has a dual reporting structure, reporting operationally to the VEOLIA Burnaby Facility Manager and functionally to the VEOLIA Environment Health and Safety Director - Canada.Main Responsibilities:The duties of the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager are as follows, but not limited to: * Plans, coordinates and implements all activities specific to the Occupational Health and Safety Program for assigned site(s). Program includes training, hazard recognition and control, accident and incident reporting, investigations, and the development and implementation of OH & S controls.
