Position Overview:

As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within our greenhouse facilities. You will develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and procedures while working closely with management and staff to foster a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee JHSC to ensure management of internal safety programs and receive worker's concerns and recommendations for improvement Develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures specific to greenhouse operations. Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective measures. Organize and deliver safety training programs for employees, focusing on best practices in greenhouse management. Maintain records of safety incidents, training, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with Canadian health and safety regulations, including provincial and federal standards. Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to health and safety. Provided comprehensive support to the HR team by assisting with various tasks as necessary, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the ultimate efficiency of HR processes

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards. Proven experience in health and safety coordination, preferably within greenhouse or agricultural settings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of greenhouse operations and associated risks is highly desirable.
