Roles for this position:



Reporting to the Safety Lead, the Safety Coordinator will provide health, safety, and environmental awareness and training on the project.

The role will require a proactive approach to ensuring the safety and well-being of all site personnel while fostering a safety-first culture.

This is a field-based position.

Contributions:



Provide guidance to site employees and contractors on company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the HSE team to develop, update, and improve procedures, safe work practices, and emergency response plans. Conduct site inspections, orientations, audits, and safety meetings. Liaise with Workplace Health and Safety and the Ministry of Labour when required. Participate in investigations into incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions. Support safety training and awareness initiatives for employees. Assist site supervisors with specialized training as needed. Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Risk Registers, providing coaching and evaluation of the hazard assessment process. Understand the site's emergency response plan, ensuring preparedness for any potential incidents. Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly safety record statistics for the job site. Prepare and submit required daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports (as required). Ensure compliance with the company's Health and Safety Program, promoting a culture of safety across the site. Ensure adherence to all project policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Requirements for this position:



Experience in a construction safety position or equivalent is required. Experience working in the construction industry will be considered an asset. NCSO certificate is an asset. Ability to positively confront individuals and upkeep professionalism while enforcing safety regulations and concerns. Must be able to maintain confidentiality with critical and sensitive information. Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills are required. Critical thinking and effective decision-making skills are required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Exceptional customer service skills are mandatory. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as electronically. Strong accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required. Effective time management skills are required. Must hold a valid driver's license.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour

Schedule:

10 hour shift Evening shift Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
