Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to work remotely while contributing to important projects in the institutional buildings construction industry. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety standards and conducting internal COR audits within the construction safety department, in addition to running site visits for all project sites within the construction portfolio, from Sarnia to Stouffville, ON.

  • Conduct internal COR audits to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety strategies across construction projects.
  • Provide advice and training to staff on safety procedures and practices.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Ensure adherence to provincial and federal safety standards and regulations.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and site inspections as needed.

A successful Health and Safety Advisor should have:
  • Experience conducting internal COR audits, particularly in an institutional buildings construction environment.
  • Internal COR Auditor designation is required
  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and training skills to engage with staff at all levels.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to identifying and addressing safety risks.
  • Relevant certifications in health and safety or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with teams.
