Brandon University has a full-time, regular opportunity for a knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. Reporting to the Vice-President (Administration and Finance), this position plays an integral role in providing health, safety, and emergency preparedness advice and guidance to faculty, staff, and students. This position provides guidance and support related to the interpretation, application and administration of Workplace Safety requirements and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. To be successful in this role, the preferred candidate will monitor and evaluate safety and emergency preparedness policies, programs and procedures and identify opportunities for improvement; offer support and advice with respect to root-cause investigations on campus; liaise with other post-secondary institutions, external safety agencies and provincial bodies; collaborate in the development and maintenance of health and safety policies, and maintain consistency with document control; facilitate Workers Compensation Board (WCB) claim investigations and liaise with Human Resources on matters related to workplace injuries; as well as other relevant duties as assigned. Qualifications: The preferred candidate will possess a University degree with three (3) years\xe2\x80\x99 related experience in a Health and Safety role or a comparable combination of education and experience. While a professional Certified Health and Safety (CHSC) designation is preferred, other safety certifications may be considered. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, have proficiency in MS Office, excellent communication skills and strong problem-solving skills. Experience in this role in a post-secondary institution or the public sector is considered an asset. Classification: MPO-V (Managers & Professional Officers) Salary: $79,268.00 \xe2\x80\x93 $100,299.00, plus comprehensive benefits package
