  • Act as the lead consultant on some client accounts and support the lead consultant in managing larger client accounts
  • Interact with clients and develop relationships, be involved in developing strategies to meet clients' needs, and take on the role of a trusted advisor
  • Manage projects and lead teams in researching, analyzing, and evaluating medical, dental, life and disability benefits plans and programs

We will count on you to:
  • Achieve operational excellence by leveraging Mercer’s tools and effectively manage priorities and resources (including less experienced colleagues) to deliver high quality work that meets objectives, timelines, service level agreements and budgets
  • Exhibit business and financial acumen by making investments (e.g. time, intellectual capital and resources) that will lead to medium to long term returns to Mercer
  • Know the marketplace, the industry, business experts and keep up with their thought leadership. Synthesize and translate market/industry information into intellectual capital and insights for both Mercer and our clients
  • Drive results and transformational change, deal with ambiguity and show agility
  • Set strategy and transform into results, with the expectation to develop and execute plans that achieve strategic business outcomes
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience by establishing relationships with clients and demonstrating a genuine passion in them and the business
  • Develop business and consult strategically by understanding Mercer’s solutions portfolio and keeping the client up to date on marketplace and policy developments that might impact their business
  • Inspire, motivate, build fellowship with the team and collaborate with others
What you need to have:
  • BA/BS preferred
  • At least seven years of Health & Benefits or related experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment
  • Ability to partner and lead teams to deliver project objectives; ability to work independently and on a team
  • Licensed for Life and Accident & Sickness insurance in Alberta must be obtained within first 6 months of employment
