Brief Overview: Under the supervision of the Health Programs and Services Manager and Health Research and Data Manager, the Health Administrative and Finance Assistant will provide direct administrative support to the Health Department to help carry out the department\xe2\x80\x99s objectives and activities. This position reports to the Director of Health and is based at the M\xc3\xa9tis Nation\xe2\x80\x93Saskatchewan office in Saskatoon, SK. Key Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Manage multiple Health budgets, review general ledgers and income statements \xc2\xb7 Support and process travel and other expense claims \xc2\xb7 Administratively support the MN-S Health Department\xe2\x80\x99s core management team including Director of Health, Programs and Services, and Research and Data initiatives \xc2\xb7 Schedule in-person and virtual meetings and keep track of meeting dates \xc2\xb7 Take effective meeting minutes \xc2\xb7 Organize, maintain and manage Health files in accordance with MN-S protocols and confidentiality \xc2\xb7 Support and manage approval requests \xc2\xb7 Support project reporting and evaluation of Health projects and programs \xc2\xb7 Carry out data entry where needed \xc2\xb7 Order office supplies, manage the fax machine, prepare and mail out Health materials \xc2\xb7 Effectively represent MN-S Health Department by ensuring the appropriate tone and interest is represented in communication with citizens, partners, representatives, and organizations \xc2\xb7 Collaborate and work together as a team with the MN-S Health department to accomplish other duties and tasks when assigned Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Post-secondary education or relevant experience in Administration, Business Administration, book keeping, or relevant field. Minimum three-years experience working in an office setting \xc2\xb7 Experience working with Indigenous, including M\xc3\xa9tis, clients. Knowledge and skills:
  • Knowledge of M\xc3\xa9tis culture
  • Strong communication skills including speaking, writing, and active listening skills
  • Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, database software, electronic communication tools such as Microsoft Outlook)
  • Strong time-management skills along with the ability to prioritize daily tasks, organizational skills, and effective decision-making abilities
  • Willingness to work within a team environment
  • Professional telephone etiquette
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent work attendance
  • Sound problem solving and decision-making skills as well as attention to detail
  • Interpersonal skills and an ability to demonstrate conflict resolution in difficult situations
