Job Description

SERDC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented individual, to fill the role of Health Accreditation Coordinator.

SERDC Health is accredited by the Canadian Accreditation Council to provide exceptional 2nd level services to eight or more First Nations communities in Manitoba. We are community driven and seeking motivated individuals who are willing to learn and make a difference in First Nations health.

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services and under the guidance of the Accreditation consultant the Health Accreditation Coordinator will lead, support, and collaborate with the health program staff and other stakeholders in the partnership communities by ensuring community-based Accreditation and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program planning and activities.

The incumbent will lead and facilitate Risk/Incident and Quality Improvement activities (QI), ensure up to date policy files, manuals, and materials; maintain the Accreditation Resources Chart (ARC) and resource library. They will be required to develop, review, and revise technical documents; support and evaluate each organization's staff quality improvement.

1. Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Accreditation



Lead and create an environment of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). Plan and implement Accreditation and Quality Improvement (QI) programming. Develop and maintain quality improvement systems. Evaluate accreditation and QI activities and recommend system changes. Train and support staff on QI and risk/incident management. Participate in organizational and departmental planning to enhance quality improvement efforts.

2. Policy and Guideline Management



Evaluate policies and guidelines to ensure current standards are met and maintained. Recommend and develop draft policy, guidelines, and documentation. Ensure organizational evidence is up to date as standards are revised and updated.

3. Compliance and Regulatory Management



Assist in managing employment and compliance with regulatory bodies. Recommend and implement activities and processes that support client and employee health and safety. Assist in organizing employee accreditation and QI orientation, learning needs assessment, development, and training.

4. Incident and Complaint Management



Support management by participating in incident and complaint management and investigations.

5. Communication and Reporting



Prepare management and leadership briefings. Prepare reports as required. Facilitate employee and community communications related to QI and accreditation. Other related duties as assigned.

Education



Post secondary education, knowledge and experience related to Accreditation, Quality Improvement (QI), business or health management. A suitable combination of experience and education will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience



Experience and an understanding of health accreditation activities. Experience in program development, management, and evaluation. Knowledge and experience in the development of policy and standards compliance. Knowledge of First Nations health, business, and governance. Knowledge of First Nations and Inuit health funded programs and various related program processes, practices, and methods. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational and facilitation skills. Deals effectively with the community members, management, stakeholders, and staff of First Nation communities. Proficiency in Word processing, databases, presentation software, spreadsheets, email, and internet.


Desired:Experience in Quality Improvement programming Human Resource management experience
