Job Summary

How you will make an impact:

You will be responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager with the supervision of service in the dining service areas.

As a Head Waiter, you will:

Promptly and warmly greet guests and accompanies them to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements. Oversee guest flow within the restaurant. Manage the reservations system. Promote an overall enjoyable dining experience; promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests and associates. Advise guests on menu and beverage selections. Liaise between kitchen staff and dining room staff. Supervise the activities of food-service associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling and sanitation procedures are followed. Help train new food-service team members and provide ongoing customer-service training. Supervise the closing of the assigned dining room; ensure servers complete side work and station setup

About you:

You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress Supervisory experience is an asset Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system (e.g. Revel POS or Toast POS) Attentiveness and patience for customers Excellent presentation skills Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment Active listening and effective communication skills
