Job Summary:


Head of Ropes works together with the Director, Program Coordinator, and other ropes staff to ensure the safe and effective running of the High Ropes Program. They oversee maintaining the equipment and the environment of the high ropes and low ropes course, as well as coordinating and running ropes programing, including initiatives and team building activities. When not at the high ropes course, they assist in other camp programing as needed._

Level 2 High Ropes Instructor Certification Required. On site living required Sunday afternoon through Friday evening, June 22 to August 28 .

Job Responsibilities:



Assess and maintain the safety of all people in and around the high ropes course. Supervise the running of the high ropes program. Plan and lead initiatives, communication and teamwork activities, and low ropes activities for campers. Perform first aid and emergency care treatment when required. Work as a team with other ropes staff and camp staff. Handle discipline situations with respect and courtesy. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the ropes shed, equipment, and first aid inventory. Complete all necessary checklists and reports. Conduct pre-use checks and continued ongoing assessment of the safety of equipment and the surrounding environment; record results and report any concerns to the Camp Director. Communicate and enforce all Cave Springs policies and procedures. Be prepared to execute emergency procedures. Attend all scheduled staff meetings. Assist program team with designing and preparing camp activities. Provide leadership, support, and assistance with camp activities. Provide camper support, assistance and leadership. Fill in for counselling and program staff as needed and assigned. Carefully manage, maintain, and care for camp spaces and equipment. Contribute to a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for all campers and staff. Act as a positive role-model for staff, campers, volunteers, and others associated with the camping program. Communicate effectively with all staff members. Demonstrate effective teamwork, positivity, professionalism, and inclusivity. Set personal goals and engage in ongoing self reflection and growth. Act as a role-model for personal self-care, including health and well-being. Attend and fully participate in all camp training sessions and events. Work effectively with year-round and seasonal Cave Springs staff. Model and uphold all community norms and expectations. Support and follow all policies, procedures, and practices of Cave Springs Camp. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



Level 2 Challenge Course Instructor (or higher) is required Standard First Aid and CPR-C is required Program facilitation skills Experience in leading children and youth Ability to lead small and large group camp activities Ability to provide ongoing supervision and care for children Strong teamwork skills Strong leadership skills Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents and team member

Optional Part-Time Opportunity to facilitate School Groups from May 1 onward and in the Fall Season.
