Industrial separations consume 15% of all energy in the US, so producers must cut this consumption if we are to stand a chance of meeting the NetZero 2050 goals. Our solutions have already helped biofuels producers reduce their carbon emissions by the equivalent of planting 1.5 million trees, so we know great progress can be made. Due to our continued growth, Whitefox is seeking someone to lead operations within our Membrane and Engineering Centre of Excellence in Calgary, which plays a crucial role in delivering our group\xe2\x80\x99s global strategy. The role includes responsibility for delivering our North American projects and providing great customer support. Based in Calgary, CA, this position will see you report directly to the COO in London and will be a mix of project and people management, stakeholder engagement, financial and leadership skills. We are looking for someone with experience in building diverse teams to deliver projects with a customer centric focus. You will be excited at the challenge of growing, managing, and supporting people in different countries as well as moving into a broader operational role. An important part of your role will be to build on your existing network to develop strong relationships within Canada, from collaboration partners, government bodies, trade associations, funding organisations and customers and help to raise brand awareness and the group\xe2\x80\x99s public profile. The main responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
  • implement health & safety procedures reflecting local risks
  • deliver the corporate strategy and global business goals
  • expand structure and team to deliver customer projects and support (US and Canada)
  • develop and implement an operational plan to create a platform for growth and scale-up
  • advise and agree on people strategy together with Head Office
  • oversea hiring and training of staff to support building a great team
  • mentoring & coaching staff in operational excellence, driving brand values of quality & delivery while controlling the cost to serve
  • ESG and financial management, in coordination with Head Office
  • support external relationships within Canada to develop opportunities & raise brand profile
  • participate in local and international conferences and events
  • drive strategy to support product development and process engineering
  • research, advise on and oversee the grant process in Canada

You will have a passion for technology and beautiful design and have an engineering background at degree level and have chosen to focus on business management in your career. What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring:
  • Bachelor of Science \xe2\x80\x93 Chemical Engineering discipline helpful
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business administration, management or a related field a plus
  • Prior operational management within a global organisation (7+ years)
  • A good knowledge base of the country/region, and a willingness to learn
  • Prior customer facing experience and the ability to provide great customer service
  • Excellent people-management skills with a focus on coaching
  • Experience living/working abroad is advantageous
  • Sensitivity to different cultural norms
  • Working in line with H&S Regulations
