The Opportunity
AAE Group is seeking a Head of Marketing to lead the strategic direction, creative vision, and performance
execution of all marketing activities across both APEX Adventure Plex and Crazy Ape Extreme Equipment.
This position reports directly to the Managing Partners and collaborates closely with:
- General Managers at each APEX Adventure Plex location
- Sales Manager (Crazy Ape)
- Director of Operations (Crazy Ape)
The Head of Marketing also provides leadership to two key direct reports -- the Marketing Manager and Digital
Experience Manager -- ensuring AAE's marketing function delivers innovation, measurable results, and
consistent brand storytelling.

This is a role for a leader who can balance creative thinking with data-driven strategy -- guiding how our
brands communicate, grow, and connect with audiences across markets, platforms, and experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Brand Leadership
?Develop and execute a
multi-brand marketing strategy
across APEX, Crazy Ape, and future brands-- preserving distinct brand identities while positioning complementary and overlapping offerings effectively within the AAE Group portfolio.
?Create and manage annual marketing plans, campaign calendars, and content strategies aligned to AAE's growth priorities.
?Ensure consistent positioning, messaging, and storytelling across all channels, customer segments, and markets.
?Lead marketing strategy for new market expansions, including the upcoming
APEX Adventure Plex Winnipeg
launch.
Digital Marketing & Performance
?Oversee all digital marketing channels, including Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest, optimizing campaigns for awareness, engagement, and conversion.
?Lead data and analytics strategy using
Google Analytics 4
,
Tag Manager
, and integrated CRM systems to measure and improve performance across both brands.
?Guide content and automation within
Patch Retention (APEX)
and
Mailchimp (Crazy Ape)
to enhance customer engagement and retention.
?Drive SEO, email marketing, and user experience optimization across WordPress and Shopify platforms.
Creative Direction & Brand Development
?Lead creative planning and production across digital, social, video, and print channels.

Energetic, inclusive, family-focused, and community-driven.

Crazy Ape:
Premium, technical, and quality-focused, reflecting its craftsmanship and performance heritage.
? Oversee photography, video, and promotional content that reinforces brand purpose and visual identity.
? Partner with leadership on major campaign initiatives, trade shows, and events.
Leadership & Collaboration
? Manage and mentor the Marketing Manager and Digital Experience Manager, fostering collaboration and accountability.
? Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership teams to align marketing objectives with business priorities.
? Provide regular reports and insights to the Managing Partners on marketing performance, ROI, and strategic opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
? 7+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, ideally in
multi-location consumer brands
,
retail
, or
premium DTC sales
.
? Demonstrated ability to lead brand strategy, creative execution, and digital performance.
? Proven success managing teams and mentoring talent.
? Strong understanding of paid media, content marketing, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.
? Proficient with Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, GA4, GTM, WordPress, Shopify, and email automation tools.
? Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
? Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to work collaboratively across departments.
?Growth in attendance, bookings, and revenue across APEX locations.
?Increased lead generation and conversion performance for Crazy Ape.
?Strong ROI across advertising channels and campaigns.
?Elevated brand recognition and engagement across both brands.
?Consistent, high-quality creative execution aligned with brand standards.
