Your responsibilities

The Head of Controlling requires self-assurance, drive, long-term planning skills, people management experience, and the ability to quickly solve day-to-day issues. This position will be responsible for guiding the activities of the Controllers team. The Head of Controlling will be responsible for strategic planning, controlling, reporting, product costing, risk management and corporate governance. The ideal candidate compiles production / sales cost reports on unit or total basis for all tk departments and work units, drive financial performance and attain budget.
  • Directs and coordinates company financial planning as well as various budget management functions as needed.
  • Provides divisional support with month-end, forecast and budget reconciliation.
  • Routinely oversees divisional investments and projects.
  • Monitors and analyzes monthly operating results against the budget, operational forecasts and business plans.
  • Manages the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts throughout tkSCS.
  • Provides field support with ad hoc requests for analysis as needed.
  • Establishes and implements departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Routinely trains and motivates team members.
  • Works to create and maintain a positive and professional work environment.
  • Reviews all divisional operating budgets analyzes trends and seasonality.
  • Interacts with operations leadership team members, for financial performance and investment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Calculates and analyzes individual items such as labor, material, and time costs.
  • Calculates and analyzes the relationship of sales or revenues to cost, and overhead expenditures.
  • Examines records such as time and production sheets, payrolls, operations charts, and schedules to obtain data for calculations.
  • Prepares reports showing total cost, selling prices, or profits.
  • Oversees the approval / processing of revenue, expenditure, and other key financial control documents, ledger and/or account maintenance, and relevant data entry.
  • Prepares financial statements and various fiscal and/or budget reports, as appropriate to area of accounting specialty, to include projections, analyses, and conclusions.
  • Plans coordinates, and monitors daily activities of the unit, ensuring smooth, efficient workflow and adherence to objectives, and departmental policies and procedures, and operating standards.
  • Oversees capital approval process, insuring compliance with IFRS.
  • Supervises personnel, which typically include performance evaluations, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
  • Develops record-keeping procedures and manages appropriate department records in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Participates in the development of operating goals.
  • Sets the objectives for the financial work group; recommend, implement, and administer methods / procedures to enhance operations.
  • Assists in the annual budget planning process and regularly monitors expenditures.
  • Responds to inquiries and research / resolve problems related to transactions.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Your profile

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRMENTS
  • CPA or MBA
  • 6+ year minimum experience in supervisory role
  • Extensive knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles incl. IFRS.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and statements
  • Work history in operational setting of Warehousing & Distribution or 3PL Logistics Services
  • Leadership and team building experience
