Reporting to the Regional Director, Communications and Industry Relations and the Vice President, Canadian Agriculture, lead the team responsible for public relations and employee communications for the Canadian Agriculture business. With the goal of shaping and influencing stakeholders\' perceptions and supporting the business\xe2\x80\x99 sustainable, profitable growth, set and execute a strategic communications strategy for the business in Canada. This includes championing the BASF Agriculture Brand, managing media, industry relations and supporting executive and employee communications.

  • Lead the Canadian communications and industry affairs portfolio.
Develop and manage a high-performing team of 2 direct reports. Responsible for managing costs within department budget and PR agency relationship management. Active member of AP Canada Leadership team, contributing to the development of the business strategy and responsible for delivering a sustainable business generating sales in excess of 1B. Promote and protect the BASF brand for the Agricultural Solutions division in Canada. Develop long-term brand and communications plans for the Agricultural Solutions business, supporting your team to build plans and programs that foster engagement and trust with internal and external audiences. Proactively manage the BASF reputation, including leading issues management and crisis communications as required. Oversee the BASF Corporate Social Responsibility portfolio, including investments across industry, corporate partnerships and community donations that support farming and sustainable agriculture. Responsible for developing and delivering BASF umbrella brand campaigns in line with global and regional standards. Manage the team responsible for fostering positive awareness among external stakeholders via effective media and public relations. Act as a company spokesperson as required. Manage the team responsible for delivering engaging employee communications which align with the organization\xe2\x80\x99s business objective and support local, regional and global strategies. Provide executive communications support to AP Canada Leadership team members. Represent BASF on external industry committees.

Qualifications

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You\xe2\x80\xa6
  • A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field and/or a Diploma in Communications.
Minimum of 15 years in progressively responsible communications roles - corporate or agency setting. * Experience in the Agriculture industry is considered a strong asset but not required.
Demonstrated people leadership skills and experience working in a complex/matrix organization. Strong self-initiative and the ability to foster innovation and embrace and implement change, while working with multiple stakeholders. Strong strategic mindset, with experience in developing and implementing multi-faceted, multi-channel, and cross-audience integrated communications plans. Public relations, media and industry relations experience. Issues management and crisis communications experience. Background in corporate partnerships, industry affairs and advocacy an asset. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Demonstrated ability to deliver concise writing and message development for an external audience. Familiarity with social media is a strong asset. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail. Bilingualism is considered a strong asset.
