Job Title Head of Climate Transition



WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Head of Climate Transition will lead the RBC Climate Strategy through a federated model for Climate: Orchestrate, Unify, and Advance a federated set of climate related activities across businesses and functions.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • As a member of the CAO Operating Committee will act as an SME and advisor on Climate Transition to the Chief Administration and Strategy Officer, GE and key leaders in Businesses and Functions
  • Develop and implement an integrated Climate Transition Strategy specifying on the bank\xe2\x80\x99s transition to net-zero, based on the bank\xe2\x80\x99s client\xe2\x80\x99s transition plans and including scientific scenarios as well as RBC policies as they relate to Climate, evolving it as required
  • Provide expertise on the business of sustainable finance and work closely with key stakeholders to contribute to accelerating a green investing strategy
  • Anticipate and manage RBC\xe2\x80\x99s reputation related to climate transition activities and proactively mitigate any risk in this area
  • Develop and implement effective and lasting responses to Climate Activism
  • Maintain a high profile externally as a champion for RBC\xe2\x80\x99s Climate Strategy, staying connected through community of practice and other external experts
  • Stays connected to and collaborate with key industry groups, standard setting efforts and bodies and plays a key role in shaping and aligning to them
  • Internally, work closely with others involved in ESG related work, The RBC Climate institute and platform Climate leaders on Climate related activities
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
  • Key capabilities are strategic thinker, enterprise mindset, an ability to work horizontally, constructive challenger, impact and influence, curiosity
  • A deep understanding on how to develop and implement a bank climate \xe2\x80\x98net zero\xe2\x80\x99 transition plan based on the transition plans of its clients, as well as scientific warming and transition scenarios
  • Experience with financed emission target setting
  • A detailed understanding of prevailing industry collaboration and standards setting efforts and bodies
  • Experience with managing Climate activism, and in developing partnerships with relevant NGOs and bank stakeholders
  • Post graduate degree or equivalent experience preferred
