About the role:

The Head of Category & Contracts Management is responsible for developing and executing short- and long-term Category & Contract strategies supporting Glencore\xe2\x80\x99s end to end Procurement & Operational Processes. The successful candidate is accountable for the implementation of sustainable strategies and major contracts to ensure the highest level of service. By applying best in class procurement processes and technologies the successful candidate is expected to significantly impact business results in alignment with departmental, internal customer and cross management functional goals.

In this role, you will :
  • Implement category or commodity strategies to optimize business efficiency and procurement process maturity.
  • Execute elements of the overall operations category strategy to ensure service delivery, contract compliance and supplier performance improvements.
  • Perform category management including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract, performance, and risk management.
  • Work with internal stakeholders, sourcing specialists and buyers to identify opportunities to increase quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform procurement reporting and analysis of management information to identify potential improvement opportunities.
  • Identify innovative procurement solutions that provide cashable savings and process efficiencies for the organization.
  • Address vendor issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
  • Lead Contract Management strategies and negotiations in support of improving end to end Procurement processes
  • Facilitate implementation of procurement change initiatives within category to improve business performance.
  • Develop best procurement practices to be leveraged by procurement teams.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective supply markets, competitors, and product innovations.
  • Build strong relationship with internal customers and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and execute effective Risk mitigation strategies to optimize category value
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree with 10+ years of experience
  • Must have at least 5 years of management experience
  • Self-directed, team player with 5+ years of experience dealing with cross functional teams
  • Has directly led the implementation and deployment of Category & Contract Management Strategies
  • Demonstrated abilities to positively impact Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations processes
  • Ability to influence and apply best in class negotiation strategies
  • Experience influencing & applying change management principles at all levels of an organization
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate (cross-functional teams)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Visionary with long term focus - able to see results.
  • Ability to create an open environment supportive of free sharing of information and ideas that is also conducive to contribution, growth and achievement.
  • Exemplary standards of integrity, personal work ethic and continuous involvement in self education and development.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Category & Contract Management software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and market intelligence simulation software.
Language: excellent command of English and French both orally and in writing
