Job Summary
We are seeking a
Head Cook
to manage kitchen operations and lead the culinary team at our
Camrose Branch
. This leadership position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in commercial cooking and team supervision who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook complete meals and ensure portion control, presentation, and taste consistency
Supervise, schedule, and train kitchen staff to uphold kitchen efficiency and food quality standards
Maintain food inventory, inspect deliveries, and ensure FIFO (first-in-first-out) procedures
Order supplies and ingredients as needed
Enforce sanitation, hygiene, and safety standards in compliance with Alberta Health Services regulations
Monitor costs, minimize food waste, and control kitchen labour expenses
Collaborate with the restaurant manager to coordinate kitchen operations and special events
Maintain high standards in food presentation and customer satisfaction
What We Offer
Wage:
$34.85 per hour (high-wage, LMIA-compliant)
Vacation:
2 weeks of paid vacation per year or 4% vacation pay
Overtime Pay:
As per Alberta Employment Standards Code (after 8 hrs/day or 44 hrs/week)

Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cook or Kitchen Supervisor in a high-volume food service establishment
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and food safety regulations
Food Safe Certification or equivalent is preferred
Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to stand for extended periods and work under pressure
Completion of secondary school is preferred; formal culinary training is an asset
