We're looking to fill the key role of Head Brewer with an ambitious individual who wants to be an integral part of building our brand and line-up of distinctive craft beers. We are looking for a Head Brewer to get intimately involved in the implementation of our brewery processes and to assist in developing distinctive recipes for unforgettable beer. This role is key to our production capacity and provides an exciting career opportunity. With the investment of time, effort and ingenuity in building new quality products, developing operational processes and managing production, the Head Brewer will become an integral part of our growing business.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

The Head Brewer must have a complete understanding of the art and science of brewing beer, creative and seeking to be a master in the craft, yet able to deal with the day-to-day routine of good, old-fashioned hard work. Our Head Brewer will be a key participant in all facets of development of brewery products, procedures, initial and ongoing brewing operations, and specifically responsible for:
The full brewing process, including sanitation and operation of the brewhouse
Quality of product throughout all stages of production, from grain-to-glass
Leadership and supervision of other crew members, developing/maintaining our policies and quality standards, while fulfilling mandated brewing priorities
Liaison with suppliers and those we supply with brewing by-products
Participation in training and development of additional brewery/backup staff
Scheduling of brewing and packaging operations and logistics
Routine Maintenance and sanitation of the brewery plant and equipment
Contributing to the creative development and design of new beers
Ensuring all safety policies and procedures are followed, and addressing all safety hazards immediately; participate in policy determination
Ensuring correct inventory levels are maintained for all raw and finished products that support the brewery operation
Participating in brewery promotional events, including hosting and leading brewery tours when required
Participation in brewery management forum
Liaising with consultants and contract brewing clients, as required
Other duties as may be required!
MUST HAVES:
Effective, responsive, professional communications skills
PMA (Positive Mental Attitude)
Good problem solving capabilities and ability to work as a team player
Full-time availability, with flexibility as required by peak business needs
College diploma/degree in brewing science or an accredited brewing program and/or a post-secondary degree or diploma in Chemistry, Micro-Biology or Engineering
Strong technical knowledge of all aspects of brewing through packaging
Proven ability to make great beer
Strong mechanical understanding of the brewing process and related equipment
Motivation and determination to achieve brewery objectives
Strong project management, time management and organizational skills
High attention to detail, production schedules, sanitation and quality management
Solid mathematical abilities and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Previous brewery experience
Pride and desire to be a great product ambassador!
