Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Head Brewer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for crafting unique high-quality beer and possess a strong understanding of the entire operation of BOH. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, chemistry knowledge, and a commitment to continued education and ensuring the facility is kept clean to the highest standards.

The position will lead to Operations Manager for the right candidate.

Duties



Operate brewing equipment to produce HKB beer according to established recipes and quality standards. Monitor fermentation processes, adjusting variables as necessary to ensure optimal flavor and quality. Conduct regular quality control tests. Manage packaging operations, ensuring that all products are packaged and labeled correctly. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the brewing area, adhering to strict food safety guidelines. Manage inventory, including tracking raw materials and finished product. Perform routine maintenance of all equipment and facility basic upkeep. Stay abreast of sales to ensure inventory is available at Connect. Document production processes, create a production schedule 6 months out, manage Ollie the Brewery Management software we use. Work closely with the taproom Manager on the beer lineup, inventory and sales. Report directly to the owner, providing reports such as cost analysis, margins, hop contracts, forecasts etc. Place orders to purchase all materials for brewing, maintain good relationships and ensure HKB is paying the best price. Attend/work Festivals, industry events and hospitality events.

Qualifications



MINIMUM 3 years experience as a full-time Brewer.

Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain brewing equipment effectively. Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating production metrics. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a brewing context. Forklift certification is a plus but not required; training may be provided. Passion for brewing and eagerness to learn about new techniques and trends in the industry.
