Take a Hike Market (TAHM) is Canada's newest culinary playground, at home in the Rocky Mountains of Canmore Alberta. In this position, under the direction of the of Operations Manager and Front of House Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to act as the Cafe expert and be committed to providing our guests with exceptional customer engagement. You will be informed and confident to take our guest's experience to another level by making recommendations that will both compliment and elevate their choices. Our ideal candidate is a creative individual who enjoys engaging with others and thrives in a Team atmosphere that empowers confidence and comradery in the workplace.You should exhibit excellent communication skills and have the ability to present yourself in a manner that is approachable, customer focused and knowledgeable in your craft. You will have an understanding of POS systems and processes, as well as possess the ability to work independently.   • Displaying a passion for high quality results regarding product presentation and Cafe techniques to elevate TAHM's customer experience.
  • Completing an accurate count of quantities on hand each week and preparing replenishment orders to be provided to the Inventory Management & Kitchen Support Specialist.
  • Providing training as required to existing or new TAHM Team members.
  • Providing responsive, exceptional service to guests by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.
  • Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
  • Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order.
  • Packaging food and beverages for safe transport.
  • Operating scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronics.
  • Adhering to sanitation and safety regulations while maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized workspace.
  • Representing a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment. Having the ability to multitask, follow directions and remain organized is a must.
  • Showing a willingness to take initiative and make decisions within TAHM's established guidelines and report any act in violation of those guidelines.
  • Displaying a passion for exceptional customer service, and the desire to continuously improve your skill set.
  • Adhering to our values and guidelines to encourage a positive employee experience and measurability of inventory and cost controls.
  • Willingly engaging in any task that is required or asked of you. Being a Team member a TAHM comes with a "can do" attitude, being present and willing to support our Team in any situation is a paramount quality for all our employees.
What we need from you
  • A long-term commitment to grow and develop with TAHM.
  • A willingness to participate in a full-time, permanent contract as part of a dynamic and collaborative Team.
  • Ability to work within a flexible work arrangement including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends, stand, walk, lift heavy items, and work with other team members in a fast-paced environment to provide excellent service.
  • A willingness to comply with TAHM's policies and procedures.
  • Be a resident of the Bow Valley or have to ability to relocate with some ease. A reliable commute or relocation plan will need to be confirmed before starting work.
What skills & experience you'll bring to us
  • A minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
  • High level of energy with strong customer service skills.
  • Detail oriented with exceptional time management, critical thinking, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Helpful and courteous approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints.
  • Teamwork-oriented with outstanding organizational abilities.
