The Opportunity: The purpose of the Driller/Locator is to perform the coordination and installation of underground conduit, cables and utilities. What You Will be Doing: Keep site lead current on the status of any issue(s) that may have an impact on the work being performed. Conduct and participate in field level safety meetings, tool box talks, and health and safety informational awareness. Ensuring strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules. Ensure equipment appearance is maintained to Burton standards Ability to perform other routine maintenance work as required Other duties as required. Qualifications: 2+ years experience operating Horizontal Directional Drilling and/or Locating equipment What You Need to Succeed: Valid Drivers\' License with clean driver\'s abstract. No criminal history involving violence, fraud or theft Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities Willing to travel, work extended hours in all weather conditions. Self-directed and self-motivated, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, ethics, confidence and a commitment to a team approach. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work efficiently and independently with strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills. Must be able to lift 50lbs Nice to have: Class 1A or air brake endorsement Experience in a telecom or utilities environment Experience running construction or earthworks equipment Additional safety training certifications. ie) ground disturbance, confined space, etc Ability to perform minor mechanical maintenance What We Offer: Year round work.
