Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver at Jack Poole Plaza, the 15 annual Vancouver Christmas Market (VCM) will open its doors to the public from November 13, 2025, to December 24, 2025. Tastefully decorated with its rows of charming wooden huts, Christmas trees and bright Christmas lights, VCM provides the perfect setting to celebrate the holiday with its authentic food, drinks and unique gifts, and has developed a reputation as "Vancouver's ticket to the holiday season."

Full Time Employment Opportunities - Hausmeister - Event Support Team

As VCM will once again develop into the focal point of the holiday season in Vancouver, we are looking for customer focused, detail-oriented and multi-tasking self-starters to join our team as a Hausmeister (Event Support Team). This position requires full-time availability and a commitment of 40 hours per week. The term for employment is from November 1, 2025, to December 29th, 2025.

Role and Responsibilities

Assist with set up and tear down of market Installation of fence wraps, signage & plywood for floor protection Decoration assembly & setup Tool & equipment inventory and restocking Office setup including Shelving & lighting Set up of storage spaces Monitoring vendor & VCM hut functionality and assisting with repairs and modifications as needed Monitoring music, ambience & tidiness Lineup setup & monitoring Opening and closing Alpen Haus including tent doors and heaters Assisting with deliveries Prepare market for the night (all huts are locked) Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Selection Criteria

To be considered for a position, you must:

Handyman experience is an asset Be willing to stand for long periods of time Have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Be willing to work outdoors in various climates Have an outgoing, energetic, and friendly personality Have excellent customer service, time management and communication skills Have dedication and passion for Christmas festivities and events Be fluent in written and spoken English
Compensation, Incentives and Bonus

CAD 22.50 / Hour Gratuity Share from VCM Beverage Huts (Based on Hours Worked) Tickets for VCM for friends and family Personal VCM Season Pass Special discounts on VCM Food and Beverage Fun VCM Beanie and other Merchandise Tickets for VCM partners incl. local attractions and events
