. The Hauling Dispatcher serves as a key liaison between our customers and hauling operators, working collaboratively to ensure quality service while overseeing the dispatch of our fleet of deck trucks, tractor trailer units, and heavy wreckers.
What you'll be doing:
Working in tandem with the Senior Hauling Dispatcher to manage and oversee all incoming calls for the hauling division.
Dispatch hauling trips to appropriate operator and equipment, including routing and trip plans; determine the most cost-efficient routes; problem-solve situations and priorities as they arise; and keep the Truck Availability Board up to date.
Provide accurate and timely estimates to customers and handle inquiries in a professional manner.
Proactively seek load tenders, pursue appropriate backhauls, book delivery appointments, and schedule pick up dates and times.
Communicate specific freight requirements and procedures to drivers.
Schedule loads based on safety, customer service, and load efficiency from the customer information.
Coordinate trip details including necessary permits and paperwork as required by customer and fleet needs.
Monitor and ensure timely response to all incoming emails to the 'wehaul' email account.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager and General Manager regarding issues such as available trucks and operators.
Call customers to advise of shipment delays and/or information necessary to process orders, border crossings, and receipt of custom documents for clearance.
Confirm that loads have been delivered; all delays or changes are to be escalated to management.
Organize the next day's trips and ensure first-run trips are ready to email to operators.
Ensure the daily and weekly review, completion, and reporting on various aspects of the operations, including reviewing and submitting unverified invoices and review outstanding invoice reports and unpriced calls reports.
Using knowledge and experience, find ways to streamline processes, seek efficiencies, and improve operations; make recommendations to management; and support implementation and rollout.
Assist the Office Operations Coordinator in maintaining driver schedules to ensure on-call requirements are met, including hours of service and time and attendance, and communicate any variances to management.
Work with management in coordinating daily trip schedules around required trucks repairs and maintenance.
Mentor and support junior team members.
Other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum of two years of commercial dispatching and customer service experience is required.
Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong decision maker with exceptional time management and organizational skills.

Excellent attention to detail.
Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with GPS systems for fleet tracking.
