Our grapes aren\xe2\x80\x99t the only thing we hand-pick\xe2\x80\xa6 Quails\xe2\x80\x99 Gate Winery is currently seeking to fill the seasonal position of Harvest Winemaker for the 2023 season. This is a great opportunity for a promising winemaker to take the next steps in their winemaking career by working with the winemaking team to support the operation of running a successful harvest season. • Diploma or bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Enology, Viticulture, or another related field
• 3+ seasons of harvest experience
• International harvest experience is an asset.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• In-depth understanding of winemaking operations including lab, bottling, cellar, crush & winemaking technology.
• Well-developed sensory and analytic skills i.e., familiarity with common wine aromas and wine faults
• Good computer proficiency, record-keeping skills & winemaking software knowledge. Experience with Innovint or equivalent modern software is an asset.
• Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and other winemaking equipment.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of cellar work such as bending, stooping, twisting, pushing pulling, climbing ladders.
• Able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• You have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work under pressure in an efficient and safe manner
