We're seeking a passionate

Hardware Technician

to ensure the quality and precision of our product fabrication and assembly processes. You'll work with a variety of fabrication methods and equipment, contributing directly to the development of high-quality prototypes and products. Your role will also involve maintaining tools, managing inventory, and improving workshop efficiency.


This position will be scheduled for 40 working hours, Monday to Friday, between the operating hours of 9:00 AM (PST) to 6:00 PM (PST).

This position can be based out of any province in Canada. Please note that travel may be required within Canada and the USA.

Responsibilities




Fabrication & Assembly




Fabricate mechanical and electronic components using basic shop equipment (e.g., manual lathes, drill presses, Dremels) and advanced 3D printing technologies (SLA, SLS, FDM). Assemble complex robotic systems, including high-precision transmissions and electronics, adhering to engineering specifications and geometric tolerances. Troubleshoot and resolve assembly challenges with attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Tool & Equipment Maintenance




Perform routine maintenance on shop tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and repair minor mechanical issues to maintain a safe and efficient workshop. Implement tool management improvements to streamline workshop operations.

Inventory Management




Track and manage inventory using our ERP system (Odoo), ensuring all materials are available for production. Maintain accurate stock records and coordinate timely reordering to prevent shortages. Optimize inventory processes to improve workflow and storage in the workshop.

Production Tracking & Reporting




Record time spent on fabrication and assembly tasks to ensure accurate project tracking. Contribute to detailed production reports, highlighting progress and opportunities for efficiency. Collaborate with the production team to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Workshop & Facility Management




Maintain a clean, organized workshop environment, optimizing workspace layout and tool accessibility. Assist with minor improvements to the office and workshop facilities. Support the development and adherence to safety protocols.

Cross-Functional Collaboration




Work closely with engineers, designers, and R&D teams to align production with project goals. Provide feedback on prototypes and suggest improvements based on hands-on experience. Participate in team meetings, offering insights to improve production timelines and processes.

Communication & Documentation




Maintain open communication with team members, contributing to stand-ups and progress updates. Document fabrication processes and techniques to build a knowledge base for the team. Assist in creating user manuals and product documentation for customers and internal teams.

Must Have




1-3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, particularly in consumer product or electronics assembly. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, including geometric tolerances. Proficiency in using shop equipment (e.g., lathe, drill press, 3D printers) and hand tools. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask. Basic metrology skills and a sharp eye for precision.

Nice to Have




Experience maintaining and using SLA, SLS, and FDM 3D printers. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Odoo) for production and inventory management. Experience with CAD software (e.g., Onshape) for design and prototyping tasks. Knowledge of maintaining manual lathes and other shop equipment.

pour garantir la qualite et la precision de nos processus de fabrication et d'assemblage. Vous travaillerez avec une variete de methodes et d'equipements de fabrication, contribuant directement au developpement de prototypes et de produits de haute qualite. Votre role inclura egalement l'entretien des outils, la gestion des stocks et l'amelioration de l'efficacite de l'atelier.


Ce poste est prevu pour 40 heures de travail par semaine, du lundi au vendredi, entre 9 h 00 (HNP) et 18 h 00 (HNP).

Ce poste peut etre base dans n'importe quelle province du Canada. Veuillez noter que des deplacements peuvent etre requis au Canada et aux Etats Unis.

Principales responsabilites

Fabrication et assemblage


Fabriquer des composants mecaniques et electroniques a l'aide d'equipements d'atelier de base (ex. : tours manuels, perceuses, Dremels) et de technologies avancees d'impression 3D (SLA, SLS, FDM). Assembler des systemes robotiques complexes, y compris des transmissions et des composants electroniques de haute precision, conformement aux specifications techniques et aux tolerances geometriques. Identifier et resoudre les defis lies a l'assemblage avec minutie et savoir-faire.

Entretien des outils et equipements


Effectuer l'entretien regulier des outils et equipements de l'atelier pour assurer des performances optimales. Diagnostiquer et reparer les problemes mecaniques mineurs afin de maintenir un atelier sur et efficace. Mettre en oeuvre des ameliorations dans la gestion des outils pour rationaliser les operations de l'atelier.

Gestion des stocks


Suivre et gerer l'inventaire a l'aide de notre systeme ERP (Odoo), en s'assurant que tous les materiaux necessaires a la production sont disponibles. Maintenir des registres precis des stocks et coordonner les reapprovisionnements pour eviter les ruptures. Optimiser les processus d'inventaire pour ameliorer le flux de travail et le stockage dans l'atelier.

Suivi et rapport de production


Enregistrer le temps passe sur les taches de fabrication et d'assemblage pour assurer un suivi precis des projets. Contribuer a des rapports de production detailles, en mettant en evidence les progres et les opportunites d'amelioration. Collaborer avec l'equipe de production pour prioriser les taches et respecter les delais.

Gestion de l'atelier et des installations


Maintenir un environnement d'atelier propre et organise, en optimisant l'agencement des espaces de travail et l'accessibilite des outils. Contribuer a des ameliorations mineures des installations du bureau et de l'atelier. Soutenir le developpement et le respect des protocoles de securite.

Collaboration interfonctionnelle


Travailler en etroite collaboration avec les ingenieurs, les designers et les equipes de R&D pour aligner la production sur les objectifs des projets. Fournir des retours sur les prototypes et proposer des ameliorations basees sur votre experience pratique. Participer a des reunions d'equipe en partageant des idees pour ameliorer les delais et les processus de production.

Communication et documentation


Maintenir une communication ouverte avec les membres de l'equipe en participant aux reunions et aux mises a jour de progres. Documenter les processus et techniques de fabrication pour creer une base de connaissances pour l'equipe. Aider a la creation de manuels d'utilisation et de documents produits pour les clients et les equipes internes.

Qualifications

Incontournables


1 a 3 ans d'experience pratique dans un role similaire, en particulier dans l'assemblage de produits de consommation ou d'electronique. Capacite a lire et interpreter des dessins techniques, y compris les tolerances geometriques. Maitrise de l'utilisation des equipements d'atelier (ex. : tour, perceuse, imprimantes 3D) et des outils manuels. Solides competences organisationnelles et en gestion du temps, avec la capacite de gerer plusieurs taches a la fois. Competences de base en metrologie et sens aigu de la precision.

Atouts


Experience dans l'entretien et l'utilisation d'imprimantes 3D SLA, SLS et FDM. Familiarite avec les systemes ERP (ex. : Odoo) pour la gestion de la production et des stocks.
