We're seeking an experienced

Product Hardware / Mechatronics Engineer

to join our ambitious engineering team as we undertake an exciting new phase of growth.

Leveraging your experience and commitment to best practices, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across the full spectrum of productization activities--from solution concept to go-to-market. This includes component selection, system design, assembly, serviceability review, rapid prototyping, certification and compliance readiness, solution customization, deployment, and associated support activities.

You'll work on a diverse range of service automation technologies--from general self-service kiosks to advanced biometric and computer vision-based solutions used by some of the world's top airlines.


Suitable candidates will have immediate opportunities to lead key initiatives and/or product efforts and be a key part of facilitating growth and shaping the portfolio.

What You'll Do



Design, prototype, and integrate electro-mechanical systems for new product platforms Create and execute test plans for devices and prototypes; analyze and report results and recommendations Facilitate documentation such as technical specifications, user manuals, production checklists, and training materials Assist with product integration and design activities across multiple programs Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues (Level 3 hardware support) Participate in design reviews and recommend design improvements Plan and manage regulatory testing and certification processes (e.g., safety, emissions compliance) Create and maintain product Bills of Materials (BoMs) Support product installation, deployment, and production handover activities Coordinate with suppliers for procurement, vendor selection, and component alternatives Provide knowledge transfer and frontline support to the Production team to ensure smooth handoff and pre-production readiness Occasionally write scripts and implement basic automation for system-level validation

What You Bring



Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of experience in product development and/or system design Demonstrated understanding of hardware/software integration and system-level design challenges Strong interpretation skills of mechanical and electrical schematics and diagrams Proficiency in selecting electrical and mechanical components with a focus on performance and reliability Experience in embedded systems, including power architecture (e.g., DC-DC and battery systems), peripherals, and I/O, is a plus Basic programming skills (Python, C/C++, MicroPython) and the ability to interface with hardware/sensors are a plus Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Windows OS required, Linux experience is a plus

Working Conditions



This is a full-time, in-office role (5 days/week) based in Richmond Hill, ON Flexibility for occasional remote workdays is available based on active project needs Occasional on-site and deployment support travel--domestic and international Travel requirement: Up to 10-20%

Salary



$80,000 - $105,000 CAD annually -- commensurate with experience and skills

Location
