A day in the life
Hardware Deployment Lead will primarily oversee the implementation of technology into our US and Canadian retail locations outside of core business hours. When not directly working with external and internal technical resources in deployments, you'll work to coordinate deployments with other delivery resources.
The ideal candidate will have technology hardware delivery experience with strong skills in developing, maintaining, and overseeing project artifacts and living into the values of integrity and building connection.Objectives of this role

  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects meet scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, providing consistent updates on project status, risks, and changes.
  • The split between evening and daytime work would typically be 60% night /40% day.
Responsibilities
  • Pre-deployment preparation
  • Coordinate pre-deployment site surveys to identify potential challenges (e.g., space constraints, power availability, network connectivity).
  • Develop precise overnight deployment schedules aligned with operational downtime windows.
  • Prepare and communicate backup plans with on-site deployment team and Project Manager for equipment, technician availability, and unexpected delays.
  • Ensure all hardware and tools are delivered to each site ahead of the deployment night.
  • Ensures that deployment partner has assigned technician(s) to each location and task, ensuring clarity of roles.
  • Ensure all new hardware is pre-configured (e.g., imaged, staged, and tested) before deployment to reduce on-site configuration/setup time.
  • Establish clear lines of communication for overnight teams, including escalation paths for issues.
Overnight Deployment Responsibilities
  • Monitor deployment progress across all locations to ensure tasks are completed on time, by filling in the confluence space provided by Project Manager.
  • Ensuring onsite team executes hardware replacement and post-install cleanup in adherence to identified scope, guidelines and standards.
  • Supports with any night-of escalations (e.g, site access/security/missing hardware)
  • Acts as the point of contact for technicians, providing immediate coordination support for troubleshooting hardware, software, or network issues.
  • Validate that deployment team has completed work against Statement of Work.
  • Ensure technicians log completed tasks, issues encountered, and resolutions for each location in pre determined forums and formats
  • Submitting tickets as issues are identified at stores that are outside the scope of project.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with vendor management and working with key 3rd party strategic partners.
  • Proven success working with all levels of cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to consult, facilitate and manage expectations with leadership, cross-functional teams, and vendors.
Required skills and qualifications
  • 2+ years of delivery experience as a project manager or a technical resource that was intimately involved in project coordination.
  • Experience or exposure in retail environment is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a solution-driven mindset.
  • Experience with vendor management and working with key 3rd party strategic partners.
  • Proven success working with all levels of cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to consult, facilitate and manage expectations with leadership, cross-functional teams, and vendors.
  • Ability to leverage appropriate project management methodologies based on project requirements.
  • Experience in coaching project team members to strengthen their abilities and skill sets.
