Job Description

OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Asset Management Specialist with a strong background in enterprise-level IT asset management to support the delivery of large-scale operational and technology initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional partners -- including technology, operations, and support teams -- to manage hardware assets, maintain data accuracy, optimize processes, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who excels in structured environments and is comfortable working with complex asset repositories, CMDB structures, and IT service management workflows.
Location: Scarborough, ON -- SCC (4100 Gordon Baker Rd) -- Hybrid, 2 days onsite (Wednesday mandatory)
Contract Length: 6 Months (Extension Possible)
Hours: Standard 8-hour day
Overtime: Minimal, only as required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and maintain IT hardware inventory within the enterprise book of record.
Work through assigned tickets to identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues.
Perform analysis to ensure asset data completeness, accuracy, and lifecycle governance.
Document processes, identify gaps, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with technology teams to validate hardware details and reconcile discrepancies.
Support audit activities by providing accurate hardware asset information.
Ensure compliance with enterprise hardware lifecycle and asset management standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
1-2+ years of hands-on experience in technology hardware asset management within an enterprise.
Strong knowledge of CMDB (Configuration Management Database).
Extensive experience using ServiceNow or a comparable ITSM/ticketing platform.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational discipline.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and data ownership mindset.
Ability to document processes, identify gaps, and support optimization initiatives.
Experience using Power Automate is an asset.
Proficiency in Excel, Access, or SQL-based tools for data analysis.
Preferred
Familiarity with discovery tools such as SCCM or ServiceNow Discovery .
HAM Pro Certification is an asset.
IAITAM Certification is an asset.
Previous experience within banking or financial services .
EDUCATION
Post-secondary degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Management, or related discipline.
