The Halton Regional Centre is a government-operated facility providing administrative, community, and public services. The site includes multiple office buildings, public access areas, and restricted zones requiring secure entry. Security personnel play a vital role in ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and property by monitoring access points, conducting patrols, and responding to incidents. Professionalism, vigilance, and adherence to security protocols are essential at this high-traffic, public-facing location.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate full understanding and compliance with site security policies and procedures.
Maintain a professional, customer service-focused approach while assisting employees, visitors, and contractors.
Perform access control, monitor CCTV and fire panels, and ensure all security systems function properly.
Conduct proactive interior and exterior patrols to identify safety hazards, policy breaches, or facility concerns.
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, maintaining calm and preventing disruption.
De-escalate crises and coordinate with emergency services when required.
Administer first aid or CPR as needed and manage Lost & Found procedures.
Complete accurate and timely incident, patrol, and activity reports.
Foster a safe, respectful, and cooperative work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Security Leadership Team or Site Management.

Must Have Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk/climb stairs throughout the building; able to push a minimum of 25 lbs
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a security role
Valid Ontario Security Guard License & First Aid CPR C certification
Proficient in English (oral and written)
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Must be able to provide certifications as required
Nice to Have:
Customer Service Experience
Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
