The Hakka Club is a contemporary Indo-Chinese restaurant in Canada offering bold, flavor-packed dishes inspired by the Hakka culinary tradition. We are passionate about delivering authentic flavors with a modern twist and are currently seeking a skilled Hakka Chef to join our kitchen team.
Role Overview
The Hakka Head Chef will be responsible for preparing a variety of Hakka-style dishes including vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers, noodles, rice, and gravy-based items. You must have expertise in wok cooking, flavor balancing, and maintaining consistency in high-paced kitchen environments.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare a wide range of Hakka dishes including Manchurian, Chili Chicken, Hakka Noodles, Fried Rice, and Szechuan specials
Control and balance flavours, textures, and presentation of each dish
Ensure timely food preparation while maintaining quality standards
Handle wok cooking with speed and accuracy in high-volume settings
Follow hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards consistently
Coordinate with kitchen staff to streamline service and prep
Assist with menu planning, daily prep lists, and inventory tracking
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience as a Hakka or Indo-Chinese Chef in a commercial kitchen
Strong knowledge of Hakka flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques
Skilled in wok handling and high-heat, quick-paced cooking
Ability to cook both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes with consistency
Strong understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation procedures
Team-oriented, detail-focused, and efficient under pressure
