Job Description


DXP | HSE Integrated is looking to hire an H2S Supervisor for our Grande Prairie, AB station. As an H2S Safety Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of all workers in hazardous environments by providing essential safety services, equipment, and guidance to maintain a secure work environment. You will play a crucial role in supporting safety protocols and facilitating the safe execution of operations across multiple worksites.Worksites: AlbertaShift: 12 hours shiftsKey Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in safety meetings with both workers and clients on-site to ensure a clear understanding of safety procedures and requirements.
  • Set up breathing air systems and portable gas detection equipment in accordance with HSE training standards and specific client needs.
  • Conduct site-specific orientations, including emergency procedures, location of safety equipment, and muster areas for all new workers arriving on site.
  • Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with HSE policies, highway traffic laws, and private road standards.
  • Participate in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and Man Down drills with clients and workers.
  • Provide on-the-job training for workers on the proper use of breathing air systems and gas detection equipment.
  • Conduct daily maintenance tasks, including bump tests, function tests, and routine checks of all HSE Integrated equipment.
  • Maintain accurate headcounts of all personnel on location, ensuring safety and accountability at all times.
  • Communicate daily operations and safety-related issues with the client representative.
  • Ensure all work areas are maintained to high professional standards and are in good repair.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all personnel in the work area to foster collaboration and ensure smooth operations.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with HSE standards.
  • Report any critical changes to Operations Coordinators that could impact dispatch and job operations.
  • Respond flexibly to job needs, which may include attending live jobs on location or adjusting to schedule changes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of field experience in H2S safety or related roles.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with workers, clients, and team members.
  • Proficiency in maneuvering and operating trailers of various sizes, including towing and backing up.
  • Solid understanding of drilling, service, and completion environments, with a thorough knowledge of associated processes.
  • Hands-on experience running breathing air systems and gas detection equipment.
  • Physically fit and able to perform tasks such as:
  • Working at heights and/or climbing ladders or stairs.
  • Operating in confined spaces.
  • Lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Performing pushing/pulling movements (tools, equipment, or materials).
  • Sitting, driving, bending, kneeling, crouching, and standing/walking for extended periods.
  • Working in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, snow).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including day or night shifts, and potential 10-12 hour shifts as needed. Overtime may be required based on client demands.
Required Certifications & Training:
  • H2S Alive
  • Standard First Aid / CPR
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license (with full driving privileges in the province of issue).
  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)
  • Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Fall Protection Certification
  • Fire Extinguisher Level I & II
  • Confined Space Entry Monitoring
  • Firewatch Certification
  • Experience setting up and operating air trailers and portable gas detection systems.
  • Experience performing field-level equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
