As member of Hotel BLU Vancouver Front Office team, the Guest Services Supervisor(GSS) plays a key role in attending to the immediate needs of each guest, prior their arrival at the hotel, during their stay and through to their final departure. In addition the GSS will act as the immediate assistant to the Guest Services Manager and in such role, he/she/they will provide operational and training support in all aspects of the Front Office operation.
Daily organization, monitor and control of the activities of the Front Desk Agents
Ensures completion of all necessary forms and documentation throughout the shifts
Ensures friendly and professional service is offered to all incoming, in-house and departing guests
Ensures guests needs are fulfilled and their stay is as pleasurable as possible
Assists with resolution of guests problems and complaints as needed
Works in a team environment toward a common goal of proving the highest guest satisfaction. Staying true to Hotel BLU company values
Assists the Guest Services Manager when required, in areas such as: Revenue Management; Customer Relationship Management; Staff Management; Communication; Cash Management
Qualifications
Positive, professional, " can do " attitude, being a team player is a must
Effective decision making to ensure operational integrity and safety
Being able to " Take Ownership of the situation/task " at hand
Demonstrate ability to work with maximum accuracy, maintaining a keen sense of urgency at all times
Opera experience is an asset
Being able to work and be flexible with other duties as assigned
Knowledge of Vancouver is required as this position requires assisting guests with attractions, restaurants, city tours and transportation needs as well as special requests
Excellent ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions
Qualification Standards
Experience:
Minimum of 2 year previous experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a luxury to ultra-luxury hotel environment. Minimum of three years of hospitality industry experience.
Visa Requirements:
Proof of eligibility to work in Canada is required.
