The award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre (VCC) is currently accepting applicants for Guest Services Coordinators. This exciting role will report directly to the Assistant Manager, Facilities Services. As part of the Facilities Services team, Guest Services Coordinators manage all incoming requests to facilitate the event and building operations, as we work together to achieve our vision to be the global leader in outstanding venues and events.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Situated in the Communication Hub of VCC, you will manage multiple radio channels, listening and dispatching appropriate personnel to complete tasks in a timely manner, while managing 6 phone lines simultaneously.
  • You will monitor access controls for all staff, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Using your technical skills, you will utilize VCC\xe2\x80\x99s Event Based Management System to facilitate information handling and tracking of Daily Operations, Deliveries (including all after-hour deliveries and vehicle access logs), Facility Service Requests, Lost and Found, Loading Bays, and Onsite Parking.
  • As part of the Emergency Response Team, you will also coordinate activities during emergency situations.
  • As a team player, you will provide additional support to Managers On Duty and Building Engineers as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
  • You will have experience in a similar role in the event or service industry.
  • Previous experience in providing venue security and knowledge of CCTV and electronic access control systems is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to concentrate while having multiple distractions around you including dealing with clients and the public coming to your desk for assistance.
  • You will do everything in your role to meet or exceed guest/client expectations.
  • Using your exceptional communication skills, you will be able to clearly express ideas, thoughts and concepts verbally and in writing.
