Role Summary
Guest Service Agents are customer-facing representatives who work to ensure that visitors have an enjoyable stay from start to finish. They are responsible for making reservations, answering questions, and using their knowledge of local attractions and dining options to provide personalized recommendations. This position reports to the Assistant Manager. The ideal candidate is familiar with the Stanley Bridge area and has reliable transportation to the property, as public transit is not available. Flexibility is needed, as shifts will occur Monday through Sunday, including holidays.
What You'll Do
Welcome guests upon arrival and create a positive first impression.
Check guests in, issue keys or key cards, and escort visitors to their rooms.
Monitor phones and emails to assist guests and address their questions before, during, and after their stay.
Make and update reservations in the booking system.
Provide guests with tailored recommendations and information about local attractions and restaurants.
Handle cash and credit card transactions, and collect and refund deposits.
Provide information on tourist-related recommendations in the area, including attractions, restaurants, and festivals.
Address concerns or complaints and resolve issues by providing excellent service.
Maintain accurate records of guest interactions and transactions.
Note important details, such as allergies, special occasions, or room requests, to accommodate guests.
Manage room availability, allocate rooms, and offer upgrades when possible.
Coordinate with the maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure rooms and shared spaces remain tidy.
Provide important safety and security information to guests and communicate with security if there are any issues or suspicious activity.
Monitor guest satisfaction and respond to or implement feedback.
Maintain professionalism and courtesy while adhering to the property's policies and procedures.
Create a welcoming environment to ensure a positive guest experience during their stay.
Perform other duties, as required.
What You Bring
1+ year of customer service or hospitality experience considered an asset.
Post-secondary education in hospitality considered an asset.
A passion for delivering great customer service.
A highly professional telephone manner and excellent communication skills.
Outstanding administration and organizational skills.
Intermediate computer proficiency.
Valid drivers license and own transportation as there is no public transportation to The Gables.
