Shifts are from 7:00am - 11:00am and/or 8:00am - 5:00pm Location: Downtown Vancouver Wages: $17.90 per hour + commission = Average Earnings of $21.95/hour
Gray Line Westcoast Sightseeing works very closely with the Port of Vancouver welcoming hundreds of cruise ships to Vancouver yearly. As a Guest Service Specialist, you will be part of the Port Operations Team, working in the cruise ship terminal. You will be an information guide for cruise ship passengers while promoting and selling tours and attractions.
YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE• Welcoming and assisting cruise ship passengers at the Port of Vancouver cruise ship terminal
• Providing guests with information, directions, and itinerary recommendations for exploring Vancouver
• Promoting and selling Gray Line Westcoast Sightseeing experiences - booking tours on-site through a handheld point of sales (POS) system
• Providing meet and greet for our pre-booked guests
• Handling guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and efficiently
• Clearly communicating with the team, cruise terminal staff and Port Operations Supervisor
• Assisting in managing the Luggage Storage program located in cruise ship terminal - ensuring smooth operations
• Tagging and organizing stored luggage accurately to prevent loss or misplacement
• Working on cruise ship days throughout the entire cruise season
WHAT WE WILL LIKE ABOUT YOU• You have previous experience working in a sales/customer service environment
• Outgoing personality and strong interpersonal skills
• You possess passion, integrity, adaptability with a professional and positive attitude
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent English verbal communication skills - another bonus is a few different languages
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to efficiently manage high volumes of guests in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining exceptional service, composure, and operational efficiency.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move luggage of various sizes and weights safely and efficiently
• You love Vancouver and want to share it with the world
• You can work a flexible schedule and are available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior experience at a sightseeing company is a big bonus
• Strong knowledge of Downtown Vancouver and surrounding areas, including key attractions and experiences.
