Summary of position: The Grow in team performs a variety of labor related tasks to effectively manage Golf Course development. The selected candidate will have a strong passion for the industry, showing high level of energy that overflow into how he/she delivers results in the field. For 2024, we are conducting a spring seeding of 9 holes of Golf expansion, with an additional 9 holes to follow in 2025. This position could grow into longer term employment if desired.



Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Must be enrolled in the Turf Grass Management course at a Canadian accredited secondary school Experience in the golf course industry an asset Basic understanding of the game of golf, golf course layout is an asset Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner Ability to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time Ability to lift 50lbs as required Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather


Responsibilities:

Mowing of seeded turf areas, water turf using irrigation system via controls, hoses etc Assist with on-going irrigation system maintenance and troubleshooting & repairs where needed Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, utility vehicles, walk mowers, ride on mowers, tractors Assist with application of fertilizers for establishment of turfgrasses Assist with spot seeding of thin areas where required Conduct daily inspections on vehicles, tools, and equipment and report problems to supervisor Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times Comply with all company policies and regulations on the work site Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations Perform other duties as directed by supervisor within the golf course properties
