About the Role - Maternity Leave Coverage - 12 to 18 Months
We are looking for a
Tour Group Operations Consultant
with
hands-on experience in running and operating tours
. If you have a strong understanding of Canadian travel destinations, experience in the travel industry, and a passion for delivering seamless tour experiences, this role is for you!
This is a temporary position covering a maternity leave for 12 months, with the possibility of extension to 18 months.*
What You'll Do
Plan, coordinate, and oversee group tours to ensure
smooth execution from start to finish.
Write and revise
tour itineraries
to create engaging travel experiences.
Work with
vendors and suppliers
to maintain relationships, negotiate rates, and ensure service quality.
Ensure
end-of-tour accounts
are completed and reconciled.
Receive, check, and approve
supplier accounts and payments
.
Speak to
potential clients
, discuss available tour options, provide quotes, and process bookings.
Manage
tour inventory
across multiple platforms.
Create and edit
invoices
using an in-house online system.
Keep
websites and internal travel systems
updated with new tours, rates, and inclusions.
Collaborate with
Tour Leaders
to successfully deliver a superior travel experience.
Handle
routine office administration tasks
as needed.
Who You Are
You have
hands-on experience in running and operating tours
.
You have a
strong understanding of Canadian travel destinations
.
You have
previous experience in the travel industry
, ideally in a tour operator DMC, or travel agency.
Candidates in other industries will not be considered.
You are a
travel enthusiast

Requirements
Experience in running and operating tours
(essential). Candidates with no Travel Industry background will not be considered.
Knowledge of Canada as a travel destination.
Legal work status in Canada
(Work Permit, Permanent Resident or Citizen).
Calgary-based
(Office-based with hybrid option after 3 months).
Post-secondary education
or
2+ year of experience
in travel sales, tour operations, or a related travel company.
Familiarity with database-driven booking, tracking, and itinerary creation systems
(an asset).
