Group MAFACT Lead, Cosma CAN/US

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads and facilitates events and activities supporting the WCM initiative; follows-up to ensure the activities of the events are being completed and maintains tracking records. Activities include but are not limited to Mafact Assessments and A3 Action plans for each of the divisions.
  • Provides leadership focusing on the success of the Cosma Canada/USA divisions and the success of Cosma / Magna. Works closely with Cosma Canada/USA Director's and Group General Managers to support a cross-functional and integrated approach to the WCM initiative.
  • Performs all duties and promotes him/herself by setting a positive example in a manner reflecting the Magna Employee's Charter, Corporate Constitution and each individual Divisions' Mission, Visions and Values
  • Leads, meets, and supports continuous improvement targets related to safety, quality, productivity, people, cost and customer satisfaction, aligned to organizational goals of Leadership Development, World Class Manufacturing and Innovation.
  • Identifies and leads projects to ensure divisions are optimizing overall business objectives
  • Builds, assembles, and develops team members and ensure succession plans are in place for the teams.
  • Develops and conducts WCM training ensuring that training learned is put into practice.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends associated with Mafact elements and initiatives.
  • Adheres to customer requirements, Business Operating Systems, and company policies

Requirements
  • Must be able and willing to travel internationally and within Canada and the United States
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and the 9 Pillars of Customer World Class Manufacturing
  • Methodical understanding of Visual Management, Daily Fast Response, and Quality Management Systems
  • Develop high level plans with divisions to help meet MAFACT objectives and plant KPIs
  • Understands, promotes and lives by Magna's philosophies and the Magna Employee Charter
  • Maintains extremely high ethical standards regarding all sensitive information exposed to
  • Continuously challenges past practices by actively exploring and implementing new solutions and methodologies to improve the quality and time to market of our products and services to the company
  • Shows willingness to learn, fully understands, and adopts the Magna and Cosma standards
  • Positive attitude, excellent human relations skills, decisiveness, and demonstrated commitment to continual improvement
  • Routinely present and communicate group KPIs and Subject Matter material to VP, Directors, and GMs
Additional Requirements
  • Works well in a team environment. Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with many different kinds of people - from the VP to the shop floor operator
  • Understands the importance of the mixture of on-the-floor AND classroom training, and must be able to stand up in front of the room and effectively train as necessary
  • Embraces the desire to standardize and implement WCM that will be the basis for training materials
  • Displays high attention-to-detail, understands and utilizes the critical need of a project management role, where every detail matters; uses these tools to track project items, and as a means to communicate project status to all groups involved
  • Consistently demonstrates and maintains a high level of accuracy and accountability
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum of 5+ years in manufacturing operations, & 3+ years as MAFACT Divisional Lead
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of Business matters/KPI's required at a Divisional level
  • BS/BA Industrial Engineer or Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt Certification is a plus
  • Must be able to travel within Canada and the United States

Physical Demands
  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require local travel.
  • Business travel is a requirement of this position (approx 60-65%) and may be within and outside of core working hours
