Nature and Scope:
The Volunteer Group Fitness Instructor - Tai Chi designs, modifies, and instructs safe, effective and
appropriate Tai Chi programs to meet the needs of members, community and special populations in a
group fitness setting. Reporting to the Program Coordinator - Fitness at the Downtown Y, the Volunteer
Group Fitness Instructor - Tai Chi ensures participants follow proper technique and feel comfortable
with the Tai Chi routine. The volunteer will perform work according to YMCA-YWCA values, objectives,
policies, and health and safety and risk management programs.
