The YMCA of Central East Ontario operates out of three major Health, Fitness and Recreation facilities as well as approximately 20 community locations. Position Summary:
As a Group Fitness Instructor and Conditioning Centre Staff you will deliver high quality group fitness classes to our members as part of our weekly drop-in schedule. Provide hands on leadership to fitness programs, as required. Ensure all members and guests have an enjoyable, safe and positive experience as they strive to achieve their health and fitness goals.
Responsibilities:
Deliver high quality group fitness classes to members, in a variety of streams
Instruct challenging and enthusiastic group fitness classes for members of all levels
Ensure group fitness training methods and techniques conform to industry standards
Meet and greet all members you encounter while in the facility
Educate members about the components of fitness, equipment safety, training principles and technique, related topics and healthy lifestyle choices within the YMCA philosophy
Other responsibilities may include the set-up and take down of equipment, conditioning centre floor coverage, Y Thrive or personal training
What you will bring to the position:
Group Fitness Leadership (YMCA, OFC, Canfit-Pro)
Certified Personal Trainer (YMCA, CPTN, ACE, Canfit-Pro) an asset
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Working Conditions:
Variable hours - may include daytime, evenings and weekends
Attend all meetings and training sessions
Requirement of Standard First Aid and CPR within first 3 months
