Fluent in MOSSA programs and system and other Freestyle Group Fitness Options
Enthusiastic about event planning and promotion
Capable of making and communicating decisions to improve effeciencies and stay in budget
Detail and service oriented to ensure delivery of a magnetic, energetic member experience
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect, track, and assess the key data necessary to manage the Group Fitness Department and oversee programming at 6 locations.
Carefully select the programming for your members that are a combination of core programs (mass appeal/offered multiple times per week) and specialty programs
Schedule programs and instructors using key data to grow participation within budget targets
Recruit new instructors in order to build a Group Fitness team
Develop new instructors to ensure they are valuable team members
Upskill instructor team to ensure highest quality workout experiences
Prepare team for Quarterly Class Launches, including team practices and reviewing video education
Work closely with all managers and departments to maximize group fitness participation
Work closely with Marketing Department to ensure internal and external marketing efforts

Make strategic business decisions based on factual data in a professional and consistent manner
Scheduling flexibility to be able to work during facility peak hours, which may include mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
PERSONAL SKILLS
Demonstrate an aptitude for basic computer skills.
Able to understand and perform basic mathematical calculations related to group fitness participation
Ability to teach group fitness classes at a competent level is preferred.
Must be an active group fitness participant.o
Must have solid fitness industry knowledge
Ability to make decisions that are fair and consistent, but not necessarily popular

Part-time position (8 hours biweekly +)

The Group Fitness Director will work closely with MOSSA to utilize their tools, resources, and best practices to build a world-class instructor team and continually elevate the group fitness experience at Shapes Fitness Centres.
