JOB BRIEF



The Group Benefits Administration Associate is responsible for maintaining and updating all administrative documents, changes and support pertaining to client group benefit plans. Reporting to the Gp Benefits Administration Manager, the incumbent is responsible to internal and external stakeholders for well-organized and timely handling of documentation. The ideal incumbent will be well-versed in departmental procedures and policies and will be able to work well under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and actively discover new ways to do the job more efficiently. The goal is to ensure all group benefits document administration activities are carried on efficiently and effectively to allow the other operations to function properly.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Heavy on client service, ticket management and accurate data entry, respond to client enquiries via email (ticket management system) or phone, regarding day to day group benefits administration, enrollment of new employees, changes to profiles and other account related group benefits issues. WI & paramedical claims triage, management and processing. Follow up with carrier partners and provide follow-up to clients. Maintain digital system and as needed, hard copy client folder of all group benefits enrollment and related change information. Under guidance from department manager, use the client management & service system to configure/re-configure group benefit systems protocols to meet client needs. Review and ensure accuracy in client data. Process new client enrollments - set up new client groups in Beneplan Systems. Responsible for all transactional processing for client files including processing of waivers, late applicant procedures, benefits extensions, termination of benefits, verification of file data and communication of anomalous data to all internal and external stakeholders. Assit with running billing cycles, retroactive adjustments, weekly uploads and conduct monthly billing audits to ensure accuracy and resolve billing related issues as necessary. Coordinate and update client information, ensure such updates are communicated to all internal stakeholders. Conduct periodic client, employer information audits to ensure consistency and accuracy in file data. Resolve any issues. Coordinate, track, receive, verify and redistribute drug and dental cards to clients. Generate and transmit file transfer (Upload to applicable carriers, on a periodic basis. Conduct a follow up and resolve any issues regarding the same. In partnership with dept. manager, plan and coordinate administrative procedures and systems and devise ways to streamline processes Respond to enquiries from client or client's employees with regard to their plan structure and operation. Work with dept. manager to liaise with brokers to educate, provide information on demand, and resolve client file challenges as necessary. Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information within the company to facilitate other business operations. Assist with any other related duties or functions as required by the dept. manager.

REQUIREMENTS



Exposure and background with Employee Group Benefits products and services (1-3 yrs), with proven understanding of basic insurance and group benefits concepts. Proven experience working under tight deadlines and under pressure. A professional, mature team player with corporate experience with diverse / cross functional teams; leadership skills and a "can do" attitude. Skilled in report generation, analytics and providing interpretive analysis of same; Strong mathematical skills with an analytical mind. Proficient in MS Office suite, email systems and related benefits admin software. Ability to learn a new system fairly quickly. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, excellent communication, organizational and multitasking abilities; Demonstrated ownership and accountability, and ability to function as a team player. Patient, flexible and detail oriented with an ability to communicate clearly and maintain adherence to tight schedules and deadlines; Strong time management, prioritization and multi-tasking skills. Bachelor's degree or education in a related discipline is an asset.

Pay: $62,000.00-$64,000.00 per year
