The Group Account Director (GAD) is responsible for leading their account team and providing strategic direction, vision and applying their overall business acumen to their respective line of business. They will effectively leverage their project and people management skills to drive their teams towards the achievement of business goals and objectives while balancing the demands of their clients. The GAD will maintain regular day-to-day relationships with leadership on the client side, acting as the primary liaison between the account team and client team at the senior level. They will also serve their team as a mentor, facilitating overall growth and effective career pathing.

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of the client business while providing superior service and maximizing business opportunities.

Responsible for meeting business KPI's, and profitable delivery of services.

Proactively develops and communicates strategic account plans to drive overall performance for the agency.

Lead and manage strategic planning activities associated with account.

Create and develop strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, while demonstrating industry knowledge and applying it to specific business challenges.

Foster strong relationship with external agency partners.

Work with analytic partners to measure final results and KPI's to determine the extent to which the original objectives and strategies were attained.

Manage multi-disciplinary team, ensuring all team members are delegated appropriate assignments and that the team remains challenged, engaged and motivated.

Understand client's approved scope of work, financial structure, fiscal billings as negotiated and implications of plan changes.

Consistently act as a positive role model for the rest of the team/agency.

Proactively stay on top of industry trends and share knowledge with team.

Mentor the team to facilitate and maximize individuals' personal and professional growth, and effectively apply the strengths of each team member as relevant opportunities arise.

Work closely with direct report(s) to capitalize on any revenue opportunities within the agency.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive account management experience, with 3+ years as an Account Director in an agency environment, working on an Automotive Client

University or College degree/diploma in Business, Project Management, Media or related field.

Proven track record of client and team success.

Strong financial management skills to manage overall financial health of accounts.

Thorough understanding of project management, planning, and creative production processes.

Strong ability to cultivate positive professional client and team relationships - able to collaborate with all levels of the organization successfully.

Strong negotiation skills.

Creative, strategic and conceptual thinker with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Strong leadership and team management skills with demonstrated ability to supervise, delegate and mentor staff.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation and public speaking abilities.

Highly-motivated, driven and able to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
